The Philippine Society for Nondestructive Testing, Inc. (PSNT) is the only Organization composed of engineers, technologies, professionals and technicians engaged in and/or interested in the practice of Nondestructive Testing (NDT) techniques and methods.
The PSNT was officially organized on September 28, 1979 and its Constitution and By-laws was formally ratified on December 17, 1979. The PSNT is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as non-profit, non-stock organization on October 3, 1980 with SEC NO. 95346. The PSNT has been registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) with TIN NO. 005-515-443 NON-VAT.
As defined in its Constitution, the PSNT was established for the purpose of:
- Advancing scientific, engineering and technical knowledge in the field of NDT through education, research, and the compilation and dissemination of relevant information useful for the benefit of the general public;
- Establishing NDT standards and procedures for qualification and certification of NDT practicioners; and
- Establishing linkages with government institutions and other technical and scientific organizations in the dissemination and exchange of information in enhancing the promotion and recognition of NDT in the Philippines.
